The Schematic Design for the Aboyne Rural Hospice building is currently under detailed development in close collaboration with a group of local Palliative Care experts and land has been donated by The County of Wellington. Subject to successful fundraising efforts and Provincial assistance, it is hoped that construction of the 12,000 s.f. building will start in late 2026, for occupation in March 2028.

The building will provide 10 palliative care beds with family spaces, nursing and volunteer staff facilities and administration offices for the nonprofit organization. The design will be domestic in scale and feel, with an emphasis on connection with nature.

Preparations for Site Plan Approval application are being made, and it is hoped that construction will start in late 2026.
