This riverside site in the heart of Elora’s Heritage Area was previously home to a concrete coffin factory, but will soon host a significant new development, providing 24 Condominium Apartments and 8,200 s.f. of commercial space. The new building will face Mill Street East with a contemporary façade that follows the rhythm of the traditional buildings on each side and disguises its height with setback at third floor level. Parking for the residential units will be accommodated in the basement of the new building.
At the rear of the lot, facing the river, a historic stone-built mill building will be retained and expanded to provide a 4,000 s.f. commercial building suitable for a restaurant or similar use. The project is currently in development, having successfully navigated Official Plan and Zoning Bylaw Amendment processes.
